Bridget Jones’ Baby

I understand that today’s recipe is mentioned in ‘Bridget Jones’ Baby’ (which I have not seen). It is another Yotam Ottolenghi one: Pan-fried salmon with pine nut salsa.

The salsa also contains currants, which V and I were a bit dubious about, but in fact it was delicious, and once again our version was very true to the photo:

Tomorrow we are having a night off and going out to eat.

I handed in another assignment on Monday and am now studying a text called ‘Lonely Londoners’, which is about emigrants from the Caribbean (a word I find hard to spell) to London in the 1950s. It is written using Caribbean dialect and grammar, which is surprisingly enjoyable. I have just got to a section where a character who has been settled in London for some time invites his mother to join him from Jamaica and when he meets her off the boat train she has brought her sister, niece and nephew as well. It made me smile!
